The Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin

Itinerary

Day 1 – Wednesday, October 4: San Francisco over the Golden Gate – 24 miles – 2,200’ gain

This morning your guides will meet you in San Francisco for the start of a great cycling getaway and warm-up to the Jensie Gran Fondo event. We will shuttle you a short distance to our starting location for today’s shakedown ride. After an introduction and bike fitting, you will have the opportunity to pedal over the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge before continuing up and over the headlands, climbing and meandering through the former military base. We’ll cruise south along East Road on the bluffs overlooking the bay and finally descend back towards Sausalito, to join bike path for the final few miles to our hotel for the next four nights. Here, you can relax, unpack, and stash the suitcase away for the next few days before we meet again for a team dinner tonight at a nearby restaurant. Meals included: L & D

Day 2 – Thursday, October 5: Sonoma Coast – 65 miles – 5,900’ gain

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll have some time to digest while we shuttle you to the small town of Duncans Mills, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Today you will be tackling a king of a climb – Kings Ridge Road – not to be missed if you are in the area and love to cycle along with epic views! Ride south for several beautiful miles, taking in the coastal views along the Pacific Ocean before turning inland to end back at Duncans Mills. We will shuttle back to the hotel, where you can rest, relax and refuel after a great day. Dinner together tonight is at another favorite spot. Meals included: B, L & D

Day 3 – Friday, October 6: Coleman Valley Road and Wine Country – 50 miles – 3,400’ gain

Following breakfast, we will shuttle you once again further North to Sonoma county. Grab a coffee from the Wild Flour Bakery – a hot spot for cyclists, before starting off on another epic ride. Today we will ride Coleman Valley Road, one of Sonoma County’s cycling jewels. Rivaling Kings Ridge in offering the scenic beauty of Sonoma County, Coleman Valley Road is on the “must do” list for cyclists as the road has been included in many of the editions of the Tour of California stage race. Continuing our ride through Sonoma county, we pass through small towns and acres of vineyards. Westside road, overlooking the vines below, will take us in to the quaint town of Healdsburg, where you’ll have a chance to stroll town or extend your ride with a 20-mile loop around the vineyards. From here, we will shuttle you back to Mill Valley to shower and clean up before dinner tonight and an early bedtime! Meals included: B, L & D

Day 4 – Saturday, October 7: The Big Show – 40, 70, or 100 mile Jensie Gran Fondo event

Event day! As with every day on tour, we will transport you to and from the ride start/end allowing you to relax on your way there and to enjoy an extra post-ride beer. As a Jensie Founder Club member – included with our tour – you will be able to enjoy all the perks of the VIP membership from the moment you register in the morning until the conclusion of lunch tomorrow. Some of the highlighted perks you will receive include pre-ride Pro Tour mechanic bike inspection, special bike staging and a roll out with Jens, Pro Tour level support along the course route that you choose, access to recover in the Founder Club tent after your ride, post ride massage, goodie bag, Jensie Gran Fondo jersey signed by Jens, and more. The VIP treatment continues today after breakfast with a group ride with Jens, which will be a casual, social pace with photo stops along the way.
